Well hello there! Welcome! My name is Linda Peterson and I teach people how to create the life they will LOVE!
My life is one big story, seriously it could be on a reality tv series, not the kind of made up drama, but real life drama. There are times when I look back on my 52 years on this earth, I think “Oh my goodness, how can I survive another day?” and then there are other times when I think life is the greatest.
I devoted a number of years to this blog focusing on DIY tutorials. I kept it mostly about my artwork. Now it’s time I tell you more about who I am. So moving forward, I’ll be sharing stories of my life, what I learned from my mistakes, my childhood, my kids, travels, food and of course all the DIY and crafts you have come to know me for. I intend for this to be more of a lifestyle blog with a focus on life, the good, the bad and the ugly. I have discovered that if you look long and hard, there is ALWAYS a rainbow at the end of the storm. I’ll help you find yours! Life’s a journey and I hope you’ll join me for the ride as we both create a successful life!
I come from a long line of creative people. My Grandma could sew anything without a pattern. My Mom also sewed and later quilted, My Aunts were mixed media artists before the term was ever even heard of.
I was born in St. Louis, Missouri, grew up in Illinois and spent my teen years in Southern Missouri, where I currently reside. My home is Branson, a popular tourist destination – think Family Vegas! I love the area and I love talking about my hometown. It’s full of interesting people, lots of talent in country music and a beautiful place to live.
I am a wife to a wonderful husband, who proves his love to me every day, Dana, a Mom to two beautiful-now adult kids, Alex and Mariah and two great Step-kids, Elise and Julia. I’ve been blessed with a beautiful daughter-in-law, Beth and I’m now a Grandma to Carlee Jane and Olivia.
I’m a designer and consultant in the crafting industry and an author of 14 how-to titles with various titles ranging from jewelry making, home decor, floral design and creative upcycling. I’ve also been a repeat guest on major cable networks such as HGTV’s The Carol Duvall Show, DIY’s Jewelry Making and PBS Beads, Baubles and Jewels.
My passion is upcycling. I collect junque – not just any junque – good junk. Then I find a way to repurpose it. There is a story that is untold in things you throw away and if I can give them life and a new purpose…all the better.
Here’s to living!
Linda
