Knotted Jewelry is a hot jewelry making trend for 2015. A little bit of retro, a little bit of modern is all mixed up into my brand new release – Paracord Jewelry and Other Accessories. When I was a kid, macrame was the rage. My Mom and I made huge hanging planters. No one really thought out of the box and eventually, the macrame craze faded. Over the years, my Grandma taught me how to turn clovers into flowers with simple knotting techniques. It was a favorite pastime of mine.
In the decade of the 80’s, neon colors were fashion trends were the rage. Now fast fowarding to 2015, you may notice that neon colors are once again, afashion trend for this year!
Jewelry making has evolved so much. We take materials of the past and trends of the past and twisting them together to create fresh new jewelry making ideas. Really, who would have thought of using paracord,- something for army paratroopers . to make jewelry?
In my 150 page book, I share 35 trendy, fashion forward jewelry making ideas to use with paracord. Some people may think that paracord is just a material to make kids crafts with. I begin by teaching you my favorite knotting techniques. I chose these techniques because they are versatile and easy to learn. If you learn a few, you’ve learned alot because there are so many variations. Next, I give you ways to just start. Quite honestly, some of the knots “look” quite daunting when they are finished but actually, they are quite simple.

Personally, I’m putting together kits to take with me on my next trip to the African bush school. We’ll be going back there in March and I can wait to teach these kids this life skill. I think they are absolutely going to love it! I also have plans to give each student their own photo, but that is a whole other story that I’ll share later.
