Creative Scarves – 20+ Stylish Projects to Craft and Stitch
by Tiffany Windsor, Heidi Borchers and Savannah Starr
I love scarves! I seem to be collecting scarves like I do paper and fabric. You can never have enough!
Before my book arrived, I really was under the premise that scarves were primarily for winter and fall – you know, to keep warm or to dress up the occassional suit for a formal event. But a quick thumb through the book and I was quickly drawn to the variety of projects and techniques, not to mention the delicious array of colors that were used in the scarf designs.
Seriously, I can’t pick a favorite project, because all the scarves are awesome! From teens to adults, there are styles in this book that fit every taste. I love how Tiffany dyed doilies using an ombre technique and sewed them together to create a scarf with a very romantic feel. I equally love that Savannah stamped some of her favorite social media hashtags onto a scarf to make a very trendy and fun, yet casual scarf to dress up even the simplest t-shirt.
Heidi’s Floral doodle design is so gorgeously simple and I love how the ombre dye gives it just the right touch. And the stamped bumble bee? just so darn sweet and easy to make.
Bleaching, stamping, embroidering, sewing and more are all featured techniques in the book which is written with simple instructions and easy to follow photos.
You won’t be disappointed with this book as its filled with gorgeous ideas for all seasons. (you can order your signed copy here) And best of all, the scarves are all really quick to make. It’s a craft on the go type of project.
